Seeking Menopause Relief

Bodily changes are extremely stressful. A woman experiences many changes that cause depression, stress, pain both emotional and physical, hot flashes, insomnia, and fatigue during menopause. Seeking menopause relief is important to any woman to make them feel whole again. Menopause relief may seem difficult, but with a few tips towards this, you may find the change easier to deal with than you thought possible.

It is important to realize every woman will react differently to menopause and therefore that woman and her physician will determine relief. These tips are designed to help you find the best menopause relief for you and remember there are many different treatments so if one does not work do not give up.

First herbal remedies have been around for centuries before medicine was even a reality. You as many women have found may see better menopause relief with the natural methods rather than the drugs a doctor might prescribe. Herbs that can be helpful are St. John's Wart, Lavender, Chamomile, Licorice, and Sage. St. John's Wart is known for relieving hot flashes, but you must follow the instructions on the product precisely because taking too much can lead to other harmful side effects. Lavender bath oils, perfumes, and soaps are often a great stress relief. The scent is known to relax your body and that is why many massage therapists will use it as a lotion.

Another remedy for hot flashes and insomnia is warm milk. I am sure you have heard your mother or grandmother tell you to drink warm milk before bed to help you sleep at night. It is not an old wives tale, but very true and one of the best methods for menopause relief. My mother actually drinks hot chocolate an hour before bedtime to help relieve her hot flashes and insomnia brought on by menopause. I found it kept me awake at night because of the chocolate, but each woman is different and it will not hurt to try any menopause relief you can find no matter your personal views.

Medications that may be prescribed for menopause relief include Zoloft, Prozac, and Estrogen tablets. A doctor should prescribe these medications and you should agree with these methods before undertaking them. Some women feel these medications are not needed, but remember you are not the only on affected by menopause. While it is your body, your family is privy to your emotional ups and downs. You may not see the affect menopause is having on you and you may not want to admit these changes, but your family can see what menopause is affecting. So keep in mind your doctor as an outside source as well as your family wants what is best for you.
